ESI Group have released the latest version of the software VA One 2008.0, which can be used for vibro-acoustic predictions across the full frequency spectrum seamlessly.

The software uses unique mathematics to combine low-, mid-, and high- frequency predictions. The software combines finite elements, boundary elements and statistical energy analysis in one model.

Scientific and Technical Software have released version 2.32 of VNoise, a boundary element method software package that can be used to modelling complex, real life, vibroacoustic industrial problems.

Noran Engineering announced the release of NEi Nastran V9 finite element software. The improvements are new parabolic shell elements, automated super-element analysis, automated surface contact and weld generation, 3D composites using solid elements, vibration fatigue analysis, combined qualitative-quantitative result assessment, enhanced Nastran editor with automatic report generator.

Vibrasuite is collection of software packages together that includes ME’scope for modal analysis from Vibrant Technologies; Rotate for condition-monitoring type analyses; IMAT a software library for Matlab; and Attune a Matlab toolkit for modal-analysis updating from ATA Engineering.

ESI-Group, which bought Vibro-Acoustic Sciences and now owns the old AutoSEA product, has released a new software package that integrates FEA and SEA to enable the analysis of mid-frequency vibro-acoustic problems. This analysis method is brand new and is the result of years of theoretical development and testing. Those in the game might recall the Resound software.

UGS have released version 3 of NX Nastran

MSC Software have released MSC.Patran 2004.

ANSYS version 8.0 has been released and includes serveral new features. Of particular interest to vibration engineers is the addition of component mode synthesis (click on the link below and the Structural tab on the left window), and also improvements with the multi-physics features.

Nastran was developed by NASA (NASA Structural Analysis) and has been available as a commercial product through MSC Software. Now EDS have released their version called NX Nastran.

MSC Software has announced the release of MSC.Nastran 2004, which has enhanced functionality for noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), acoustics, dynamics and optimization.

ESI Group have announced the release of AutoSEA 2003. AutoSEA2 2003 includes a new general laminate subsystem with visco-elastic material properties, enables predictions of the damping added by acoustic treatment layers, including foam-backed carpet, dash barriers and headliner trims, and now supports object grouping and provides new features for model quality checking. To help diagnose the noise paths and to identify the design parameters which are controlling the predicted noise levels, the energy level "thermogram" has been enhanced.

MSC Software have announced the release of MSC.Nastran 2004. Significant reductions in solutions times have been made since MSC.Nastran 2001.

LMS International have released version 5.6 of LMS Sysnoise, boundary element analysis software for prediction of noise and vibration. This version adds new capabilities to predict flow-induced noise and aero acoustic phenomena.

ANSYS have released version 7.1. Of particular interest to acoustic and vibration researchers are the improvements to the coupled field and modal analyses. Using the Mesh-based parallel Code Coupling Interface (MpCCI), you can now perform fluid-solid interaction analyses using ANSYS and a third-party CFD code, even if the meshes are dissimilar. The sparse solver and Block Lanczos eigensolver now support parallel processing for the Linux 32-bit platform, when using four to eight processors on this platform, you will improve the processing speed by a factor of 3 to 3.5 times that of a single processor.

National Instruments have released LabVIEW 7 Express, which is the culmination of 4 years of effort. The software can be compiled for a range of targets including Palm OS, and Microsoft PocketPC PDAs.

MSC Software have released MSC.ADAMS/Car Ride which was developed in partnership with several European automotive manufacturers. The software allows engineers to predict typical NVH metrics.

LMS International have announced the release revision 4 of their LMS Test.Lab at the 2003 edition of the SAE Noise & Vibration Conference.

Bruel and Kjaer have release two new software packages. Acoustic Determinator Type 7816 is a tool to calculate the sound power level of sources by measuring sound pressure levels in the field. Classifier is a PC-based software package for laboratory or field measurements of building acoustics using Brüel & Kjær's PULSE version 7.x.

Causal Systems has released the latest version of ENC, Engineering Noise Control software. The software evaluates practically all of the expressions and algorithms in the book, Engineering Noise Control 2nd edition by
DA Bies and CH Hansen.
